Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician I (Temp-to-Hire)
Pay: $20–$24/hour (Based on experience)
Location: Boulder, CO
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Job Store Staffing is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician I for a well-established optics manufacturing company in Boulder, CO. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with experience in quality control or inspection in a production environment.
Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician I is responsible for inspecting optical components and assemblies to ensure compliance with customer and industry specifications. This position plays a key role in maintaining product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using tools such as calipers, drop gauges, tweezers, and video microscopes
- Inspect parts to industry standards including ISO 10110, MIL-PRF-13830, and MIL-PRF-48616
- Conduct optical metrology tests including wavefront, surface figure, and radius measurements
- Inspect packaging for cleanliness and FOD (foreign object debris) prior to shipment
- Create Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), product labels, and other customer documentation
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and process sheets
- Identify and document non-conforming material; work with Engineering as needed
- Support basic environmental and durability testing (adhesion, humidity, temperature, etc.)
- Take initiative to correct documentation or drawings as necessary
- Provide and participate in cross-training opportunities to reduce inspection bottlenecks
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate degree preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in quality assurance or inspection in a manufacturing setting preferred
- Strong math, measurement, and documentation skills
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently
