Job Store Staffing is seeking a Financial Accountant for our client in Colorado Springs! This position is responsible for providing accounting services to various auxiliary service departments, ensuring compliance with internal controls, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and governmental regulations.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours
Pay Rate: $21.00-23.50/hour
Location: Central Colorado Springs, CO
Duration: Temporary position with possible of hire
Financial Accountant Duties:
- Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance for invoice coding and processing daily financial transactions.
- Process cash-ups, analyze transactions, and ensure accrual accounting procedures are followed.
- Work closely with various departments to improve efficiency while maintaining compliance with GAAP/GASB.
- Reconcile financial records, troubleshoot discrepancies, and prepare journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing, inventory reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Review financial classifications in the general ledger and maintain internal financial forms.
- Verify, classify, and monitor invoices and credit memos in the accounting system.
- Process payments and refunds, reconcile balances, and manage vendor transactions.
- Assist with purchase order monitoring and vendor setup.
- Provide financial analysis for purchase order adjustments and other financial needs.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 4 years of professional bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred
- Experience with internal controls, accounts payable, and inventory/cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Background in a retail, university bookstore, or food industry setting is a plus
- Adaptable and able to support others
- Strong people skills and ability to collaborate effectively
