Accounting Manager

Job Description
- Financial administration including all accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Manage insurance position, oversee taxing and auditing relationships with outside consultants
- Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place and auditable processes are followed
- Drive selection, adoption, and continuous improvement of new systems to automate repetitive processes
- Lead strategic business modelling as we prioritize our efforts along multiple potential paths
- Bookkeeping including entering all transactions for accounts within clients classing system
- Vendor management: pay all invoices timely and track appropriately
- Manage billing calendar and invoice appropriately
- Cash Management
- Report income statements monthly
- Process all new sales contracts and set up new customers appropriately
- Manage business registrations for multiple states and facilitate new registrations in new states
- File monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly sales & use tax returns
- Administration of healthcare benefits, coordination and execution in onboarding new hires and terminations
- Coordinate expense reports and reimbursements and update payroll manager with employee expense,
- employee commissions/bonuses, employee time off
- Reconcile payroll and bank monthly
- Facilities logistics and communicate with landlord, utilities, fire department, and other as needed
- Routinely reorder company and department supplies and meals
- Make logistical arrangements related to office conferences and employee events
- 3+ years of Accounting Manager/Controller experience
- CPA preferred but not required
- 3+ years of small-mid sized business experience (25- 100 employees, <$5M Revenue)
- Payroll experience
- History of selecting and implementing an accounting system/billing system
- Business customer billing and collections responsibility
- Management of junior personnel
- Experience with sales tax a plus
- Proficient with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Avalara AvaTax and SaaS-based accounting and administrative software
- Ability to work independently with a strong drive to problem solve
