Job Store Staffing is seeking an experienced candidate to fulfill an Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist position at a Christian based organization here in Colorado Springs! It is a great organization to work for and serve a greater good.  This will be a 1st shift position, pay is $19/hr+ DOE (depending on experience).

Position Summary

Supervises payroll processing and accounts payable activities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Provides excellent customer service for all customers, ACSI departments and ACSI constituents through timely, effective communication and timely, accurate completion of assigned duties.


Prepares and processes semi-monthly payroll, ensuring that all computing, withholding and/or deductions associated with net pay are done properly

Addresses employees payroll related questions timely and accurately and assists Human Resources with payroll related personnel matters

Ensures payroll records are updated and reports on any matters of interest

Organizes and reviews forms associated with federal, state and local authorities, such as W-2 s and other yearly reporting procedures

Assists with vendor management of third-party payroll processor and benefits providers

Assists in various auditing processes related to payroll

Accounts Payable and Reception:

Supervises the accounts payable function and the reception/support personnel, directing the work of others and ensuring accurate data entry for properly authorized vendor payments and expense reporting and ensuring maintenance of adequate supporting documentation

Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate records and control reports

Oversees weekly check run and upload of ACH payments and positive pay reports to the bank

Assists with corporate account vendor management

Assists Senior Accountant and Controller as directed for month-end and year-end closing, including account reconciliations, bank transaction entries (as associated with accounts payable), employee expense and credit card processing, etc

With limited assistance from the Controller, manages the corporate credit card program

All other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

Required Experience and Education

Five or more years practical experience with payroll processing and accounts payable procedures

Two or more years of accounting system experience required; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience and Concur expense reporting system experience preferred

High school diploma required; Associate s or Bachelor s degree preferred in Accounting, Business, or related field

Ability to perform a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude

Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet a constant stream of deadlines

Highly detail-oriented, dependable and organized with excellent time management skills

Ability to determine what is needed in assigned projects and apply problem solving skills when issues arise

Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to accomplish the assigned duties

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, talk and hear

Essential duties require the use of computers to process information

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read at close range and distinguish colors and contrasts

The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal
