Job Store Professional has partnered with a leader in medical manufacturing in Colorado Springs to fill their Global Supply Chain Manager opening. Our client has been developing and manufacturing custom hearing protection and audiology supplies for over 60 years.
The Global Supply Chain Manager position will begin as Temp to Hire contract with the option of going permanent for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door!
The Global Supply Chain Manager role is fully onsite 5 days a week at the Colorado Springs Facility
Salary: $70K-80K DOE.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Combination management and execution position including, training, directing, leading, and mentoring in purchasing, and inventory control.
• Develop, lead, and execute global supply chain strategies at a company level
• Promotes a Safety-First work environment by following all safety policies and procedures.
• Identify strategic opportunities to achieve company goals; ensure that inventory is maintained at appropriate levels and at the lowest cost possible; identify margin improvement opportunities across the supply chain portfolio.
• Work seamlessly with Warehouse Supervisor to reduce the incidence of backorders on key supply items and ensure timely availability of inventory for Laboratory Management to ensure no lost production days.
• Manage global supplier relationships – initiate and maintain contracts and agreements including coordinating approval via the company’s approval process. Document and resolve supplier issues.
• Manage freight as a product category companywide in collaboration with Commercial, Finance, and other parts of the business.
• Notify management of any potential supplier issues that are complex or will impact the company’s ability to meet our customers’ expectations and/or company goals. Champion solutions agreed to by the Director of Operations.
• Foster a collaborative environment between purchasing and other departments and divisions to effectively manage and accomplish supply chain objectives.
• Management responsibilities for overseeing the daily/weekly functions within purchasing, including developing, implementing, and maintaining internal and external outsource policies and best practices to ensure competitive cost, highest quality, and timely delivery.
• Establish and manage performance objectives and KPIs for direct reports that align with company supply chain goals allowing regular performance discussions.
• Provide coaching to support performance, quality of work, and ongoing training and development of staff, including all aspects of performance management: annual reviews, attendance, work schedules, paid time off requests, performance issues, and disciplinary actions, while maintaining complete and thorough documentation.
• Keep current on industry trends involving technology and supply chain practices and techniques.
• Work with Returns Department to resolve NCMR (Non-Conforming Material Requests) process reconciliation.
• Create and deliver accurate departmental reporting on a timely and consistent basis as directed by Operations Director.
• Oversee and manage purchase-related information, review reports and utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to make appropriate business decisions.
• Actively seek to identify suppliers to improve the quality and price of incoming raw materials and finished goods as dictated by business needs. Obtain price quotes and heavily negotiate with suppliers for better pricing, lead and delivery times, etc.
• Handle special projects and tasks as assigned.
• Contribute to the company's continuous quality improvement processes.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business or supply chain management or relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing role.
• Minimum 3 years of light production experience a plus.
• APICS certification preferred.
• Excellent negotiating, analytical, and communication skills, both verbal & written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems and processes in a manufacturing environment
• Highly ethical in financial data and resources, including company credit card and other account information.
• Ability to travel as necessary.
