Job Store Staffing is seeking a MIG Welder for our client in Colorado Springs!
This is a hands-on role for an experienced sheet metal MIG Welder who takes pride in producing clean, accurate welds in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with thin gauge materials, interpreting shop drawings, and maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced production setting. Shift: Monday through Friday, 3:30pm-12:00am
Overtime may be required, including weekends
Pay Rate: $20-23/hour
Duration: Long term temporary, with possibility of permanent hire
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform MIG welding on sheet metal components and assemblies
- Weld thin gauge steel and stainless steel materials while maintaining quality and minimizing distortion
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
- Fit, tack, and assemble sheet metal parts to specification
- Use hand and power tools such as grinders, clamps, measuring devices, and layout tools
- Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance
- Troubleshoot minor welding equipment issues and make basic adjustments as needed
- Accurately complete production paperwork, travelers, and inspection checklists
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety standards
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience as a welder (preferably in industrial setting)
- Must be able to pass a weld test
- Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
- Familiarity with measuring tools and basic fabrication math
- Experience working with carbon steel and stainless steel
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
