Job Store Staffing is seeking a Part-time Payroll/AP Clerk for our non-profit client. This role will primarily involve processing payroll for employees and managing accounts payable tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $22-32/hour
Duration: Long term temporary
Shift: Part time, 24-39 hours a week. Flexible Schedule
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently.
- Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies in employee hours worked.
- Calculate and input wage garnishments, deductions, and adjustments as necessary.
- Prepare and distribute payroll checks or direct deposits in a timely manner.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Assist with accounts payable functions, including reviewing invoices, coding expenses, and processing payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address any billing discrepancies or issues.
- Assist in month-end closing procedures related to payroll and accounts payable.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any payroll or accounts payable inquiries.
- Support in the preparation of financial reports and analysis related to payroll and accounts payable.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with a nonprofit is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in payroll processing and/or accounts payable roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP, etc.).
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Experience with payroll software, ERP systems, HRIS software is a plus.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
