Payroll Specialist

Job Store Staffing is recruiting for a temporary-to-hire Payroll Specialist for a top University in Aurora, Colorado. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support and help with processing monthly payroll, entering vacation requests, and updating funding distributions within the department as well as completing monthly expense reports. The ideal candidate for the Payroll Specialist will be someone who understands the entire payroll process, but also someone who is analytical and able to manipulate data and present it in an easy-to-understand manner. We are hoping to find someone who has the ability to walk through complex processes, troubleshoot issues, and continue to grow and attempt.

- $24-$35/hr
- Mon-Fri 8am- 5pm (Hybrid Schedule)
- Training will be in the office
Responsibilities for the Payroll Specialist
- Enter and maintain data in department databases
- Processing bi-weekly and monthly payroll for department
- Enter vacation and sick leave
- Manage monthly reconciliation of clinal and contract pay
- Complete monthly Payroll Expense Transfers
- Update funding distributions as required
- General Administrative duties as needed
Qualifications for Payroll Specialist
- At least 2 years’ experience payroll processing experience
- Experience in finance or contract management
- Must have Accounting Software Experience
- HDM and SmartSheet experience is a plus
- Bachelors Degree is required
