Power Plant Manager

We are seeking an experienced Power Plant Manager to oversee the 24/7 operations of a secure physical plant providing continuous power and cooling to high-security data centers and mission-critical operations. This is a leadership role vital to national infrastructure support, focused on operational reliability and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead facility operations teams in monitoring and maintaining critical infrastructure systems around the clock.
- Coordinate all site activities affecting infrastructure, including scheduled maintenance and emergency response.
- Develop, update, and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Response Procedures (ERPs), and Methods of Procedure (MOPs) through the Change Management Board.
- Implement a comprehensive training and certification program for operators.
- Manage staffing, shift schedules, and ensure compliance with performance and regulatory standards.
- Deliver incident reports within 24 hours and lead root cause analysis with corrective action planning.
- Monitor and ensure that all performance metrics and customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of related experience, or 11+ years of direct experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 7 years of experience in facility, power plant, or critical infrastructure operations.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms such as Archibus.
- Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance practices.
- Strong communication and team leadership skills.
- Proven ability to integrate Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) practices in daily operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years managing 24/7/365 critical infrastructure operations.
- Experience with high-voltage electrical systems (4160KV/480KV), UPS and battery systems, diesel generators, chillers, cooling towers, and HVAC systems.
- In-depth understanding of MEP systems and electrical generation operations.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or ISO 9000 process improvement methodologies.
- Track record of developing and maintaining SOPs and ERPs in secure environments.
