Role Summary:
As a Product Development Engineer, you’ll work closely with the design and production teams to support the full product development lifecycle—from concept to manufacturing. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong mechanical or product design background and a passion for turning ideas into tangible, high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Development: Assist in designing and developing lighting and furniture products, including CAD modeling, prototyping, material evaluation, and testing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, operations, and sales to ensure products meet performance, quality, and aesthetic standards.
Process Optimization: Support the refinement of manufacturing processes and contribute ideas for cost reduction, improved assembly, and increased production efficiency.
Quality Support: Ensure products are designed with compliance in mind, including UL or other applicable certifications.
Problem Solving: Actively troubleshoot and resolve design and production challenges with a focus on practical, manufacturable solutions.
Documentation & Systems: Maintain accurate engineering documentation, BOMs, and ERP system inputs.
Innovation: Contribute to the exploration of new materials, technologies, and design approaches aligned with current trends and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in a product engineering or design engineering role, preferably in lighting, furniture, or related manufacturing industries.
Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks strongly preferred).
Strong understanding of mechanical design, fabrication techniques, and materials.
Hands-on approach and comfort working with prototypes and in a workshop environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering change processes a plus.
