Job Store Professional has partnered with a client in the education industry to recruit for a direct hire, full-time Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst will be a hybrid position with 3 days onsite in Castle Rock, Colorado and 2 days working remotely.
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for planning for and executing strategic initiatives, entity-wide budgeting and financial planning, and analysis functions as a member of the Business Services Department. The Senior Financial Analyst supports the budget process including budget development, ongoing budget monitoring, analysis of budget to actual variances, long range planning and forecasting, and communicating with key constituents. This position will maintain multi-year financial forecasts which senior management may rely upon to drive performance and make informed decisions.
We are looking for a strong candidate that will enjoy developing and promoting community relations among various school, department and community clientele. The Senior Financial will report directly to the Director of Budget and mentor a team of Budget Analysts.
Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst:
- Utilize financial data to analyze budget to actual variances and provide explanations of variances in terms of programmatic initiatives.
- Empower site-based decision making and seeks to ensure maximization of site-level purchasing power.
- Provide excellent customer service through a strategic financial relationship with site-level budget owners such as school principals, department directors and bookkeepers.
- Create, implement and maintain tools to help schools and departments track spending, estimate carry over and forecast future spending.
- Develop and continually refine current and multi-year revenue and expenditure projections.
- Develop and implement training materials and presentations as needed.
- Address workflows associated with systems, budget transfers, journal entries, etc. in a timely fashion.
- Act as an ambassador of the budget office and project a high level of professionalism and transparency.
- Produces work products are considered timely, accurate, thorough, and complete.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree – Accounting, Business or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, financial analysis or data analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with school district budgeting and finance or other municipal budgeting experience preferred.
- General understanding of GAAP.
- Collaborative team player
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Maintains a generally positive attitude.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. 3 days onsite including Tuesdays for staff meetings and 2 days remote.
Salary: $60,000-74,000/per year.
