Surface Mount Machine Operator
Location: Colorado Springs, CO (80907)
Pay Range: $17.50 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, 8-hour shifts starting between 5:30 AM - 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surface Mount Machine Operator to join our team in Colorado Springs. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining surface mount equipment, including pick-and-place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens. Your primary focus will be ensuring the production of high-quality electronics boards while continuously improving processes and reducing defects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate SMT equipment, including pick-and-place, solder paste inspection (SPI), and reflow machines.
- Generate and debug programs for automated optical inspection (AOI) systems to improve inspection accuracy.
- Monitor and optimize SMT processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Review materials, designs, and documentation for manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain.
- Conduct stencil design and ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and JEDEC J-STD-001 standards.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of SMT equipment.
- Utilize statistical process control techniques to identify and resolve production issues.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience with SMT equipment and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Experience in solder paste application, pick-and-place programming, and reflow operations.
- Ability to use data to drive continuous process improvements.
